An Author Reading with Erin McGraw

Sunday, June 15. 6pm at Scout Coffee (237 North Avenue in Burlington). Donations encouraged. Join us for coffee, novelty ice cream, and literature. Erin McGraw has published five books including three novels, her most recent, Better Food for a Better Planet, from Slant Books.

Photo Walk with Luann Bailey

Thursday, June 19. 6:30pm in front of the ECHO center. Free.  You don’t have to have an expensive camera or know what an aperture is in order to enjoy this event. This is an opportunity for anyone who wants to learn how to take great pictures to pick up some tips for composing a scene on your camera—even if your camera is your phone.

Creative food with Jenn Ayers and Callie Megargle

July 12. Time and Location TBA. This event is an opportunity to think creatively about food. Jenn and Callie will offer some great ideas for cooking healthy and tasty food on a budget. And then we’ll eat together!!

Artists’ Retreat @ The Old Hotel

Thursday, August 7 – Sunday, August 10. The Old Hotel. Lincoln, VT. $135 (includes food and lodging) This retreat offers a great opportunity to focus on a creative project for a long weekend—to spend time in a beautiful setting in the Green Mountains—and do so with a great group of people. We share meals together, share some of our work over an evening campfire, and have a lot of time to work on our own projects. Check out for pictures of our retreat home.

Songwriting Workshop with Jason Harrod

Saturday, August 23.  1-3pm. Location TBA. $35.   Jason is an award-winning singer-songwriter and a friend of our church (check out his music at This workshop offers a unique opportunity to consider the components of a song and how those components are constructed and then unified into a single artistic structure. Saturday, August 23. 6pm. Outdoor Concert at the Fittons. Donations encouraged. Bring a blanket or a chair and come enjoy an outdoor concert in a great setting. Oh, and you might want to bring some bug spray, too.
