The Way to the MountainWritten by admin on Mar 07, 2021 in - No Comments
The mountaintop is the place where God encourages us, strengthens us, gives us his perspective, and commissions us. In this sermon, Adam brings us to the Mount of Transfiguration and invites us to see how God uses mountaintops in our own lives to form us and shape us.
Sermon Discussion Questions: Matthew 17:1 – 9
1) The mountaintop is the place where God encourages us, strengthens us, gives us his perspective, and commissions us. Can you think of a mountaintop in your own life where God met you in any of these ways?
2) Peter interrupted Moses, Elijah, and Jesus to suggest, essentially, a campout, but that wasn’t what God had in mind. What are Peter’s mistakes here, can you relate to them, and what can we learn from them?
3) “The importance of mountaintop experiences doesn’t lie in the experiences themselves, but in how they form us and what they prepare us for,” Adam said. How has a mountaintop experience in your own life strengthened and sustained you during difficulty?
4) Prayerfully consider what you might do this week to make your way up the mountain with Jesus.
